Botanical Name: 
Rhus microphylla

Native to Southwestern U.S. and Northern Mexico. A multi-branched shrub or, occasionally, a small tree that forms a dense mound. Leaves are green, pinnate, 5 to 9 leaflets, leathery, shiny, 1/2" long, 5/8" wide. White blooms appear before leafout in spring. Followed by red-orange, small, hairy fruit in summer. Very drought tolerant.
