Native to western U.S. A very showy perennial with an upright or mounding growth habit. Leaves are gray-green, linear to lanceolate, sessile, upper leaves opposite, lower leaves alternate. Blooms are tubular, red-pink to red-orange, 1" to 1 1/2" long. Cut back in late winter for new season growth.
