Honeysuckle Hall's
Native to eastern Asia. A semi-evergreen, woody-stemmed, climbing vine.  Leaves are dark green, ovate, 1" to 2" long, 3/4" to 1 1/2" wide. Blooms are white that turn yellow with age and are very fragrent. Can tolerate heat and poor soil. L. purpurea has the same growth habit as Hall's but the leaves are purple underneath, with blooms that are purple-red with white.

Comments

Very vigorous vines that should be pruned back every few years.  Flowers do attract bees.  Will form a rapid cover for trellises, privacy or wind protection.  Can also be used as erosion control on steep banks.
