Gaura
Native to Texas and Louisiana. A herbaceous perennial with an airy growth habit. Pink buds opening up to  white flowers are carried on a lose and open panicle above a basal rosette. Leaves are green, lanceolate, alternate, attached at the base of the stem, 1 1/2" to 3 1/2" long. Very drought tolerant. Another variety (Siskiyou Pink) has green leaves with maroon blotches and deep marron buds opening to rose-pink blooms. Moderate growth.
