Fairy Duster Red
Native to Baja California. A deciduous, stiff, dense shrub with ferny dark green leaves. Primary leaflets in 1 - 6 pairs, secondary leaflets 4 - 17 pairs. Has an open irregular growth habit and is asymmetrical at the base. Tufted flower clusters are bright red and attract hummingbirds. Seed pods velvety and cordlike. Can be summer deciduous in intense heat.
