Bird of Paridise Red
Native to tropical West Indies. This very popular shrub has stricking color from mid-summer through autumn. It's leaves are compound, dark green, lush, ferlike, with many small leaflets 3/4" long. Blooms are clusters of bright orange and red flowers with red stamens. Followed by reddish brown seedpods in autumn. Plants freeze to the ground in winter, but rebound quickly in spring. Fast growth rate.
